Winter light is different from any other time of year when it comes to the quality of light. This class provides training in seeing, using and overcoming the challenges of winter light. Experience the difference between what the eye sees and what camera sees and discover how to create images using low light. Together we will explore long exposures, long shadows, and create beautifully lit indoor and outdoor photographs. This is an intermediate level class geared for DSLR camera users. Students will need a camera capable of independent shutter and aperture settings. Bring camera, charged batteries, tripod (if you have one) and camera manual to class.
This course will cover camera exploration and tried and tested light measurements for photo exposure in low light. Students will explore camera settings in class and then use the knowledge for assignments. Class may include one field trip - weather depending. Class will include image critique and feedback from instructor.
