Drawing Patterns From The Natural World.
Unlock the beauty of nature by learning to observe and draw its intricate patterns! In this class, you'll explore the geometry of leaves, shells, and other natural forms while developing your artistic skills through hands-on exercises. By the end, you'll have sharpened your attention to detail, improved your drawing techniques, and gained a deeper appreciation for the wonders of the natural world. This is a great class for all levels of artists.
Week 1: Introduction to Patterns in Nature
Objective: Understand the basic concept of patterns.
Using just four simple kinds of marks, dot, line, circles and curves learn how to make simple or complex drawings.

Week 2: Exploring Symmetry and Geometry in Nature
Look for patterns in nature and incorporate them into simple black and white drawings.
Week 3: Adding Color to your drawings
Using watercolor paints, paint pens or markers incorporate color and shading into your black and white drawings

Week 4: Combining Nature’s Patterns in a Final Composition
Create one large drawing using the techniques learned in this class.
