Certified Phlebotomist Training Program (Ages 18 and Up)

Get trained to draw blood samples from patients in a clinical laboratory or other health setting. Over the course of 10 weeks and 65 classroom hours you will learn all 3 blood draw methods, POCT, circulatory system, OSHA regulations, medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, specimen processing and much more. This is a very hands-on fast paced class. This program will prepare you for the California State Exam which allows you to apply to Laboratory Field Services for your CPT-1.

Class includes a required 40-80 hour extern, Monday-Friday consecutively to be assigned after classroom portion ends.

Prerequisites: 18 years of age or older; have proof of HS diploma or GED. A drug and background check will also be required.

Students will also need to purchase navy blue scrubs. More information will be given out on the first day and in your student welcome letter. 

Payment Option Plan: 
A payment option plan may be available to you through Gavilan College Community Education. The payment option plan will be broken into an initial non-refundable deposit of $540.00 upon registration and then 4 equal payments of $540.00 will be due throughout duration of program on specified dates; for specific details, please request a training packet. 

Cancellation Policy:
No refunds for this program please choose carefully. Students must submit cancellation request 3 business days prior to the first day of the class. If not received 3 days prior to first day of class students will forfeit full amount of the course. Students in payment plan that cancel prior to first day of class in writing will forfeit their deposit of $540.00. Students in payment plan that cancel after first day of class in writing are responsible for entire course fee of $2,700.00.
Note: All Students are required to bring their proof of High School Diploma or GED on the first day of class.
